Grapefruit? more like GREATfruit

Welcome to my blog! My name is Maura and I’m a natural health consultant. In over 10 years of learning about natural health, I have absolutely fallen in love with essential oils. They are quick and easy to use. Each oil is incredibly versatile because each works with physical, mental AND emotional health. They are powerfully effective. You will feel the changes in minutes, not hours or weeks like other options. They can save you money because you use them one drop at a time, making them pennies per dose. And they can be used around the home to replace toxic cleaning products.

If you are tired of the side effects you’re experiencing from other products, wanting to switch over to more natural options, or are just looking for natural options, then you’re in the right place! Please know I’m happy to answer any questions you have.

Grapefruit

Grapefruit is one of the best smells, in my humble opinion. It’s crisp and refreshing. This oil comes from the rind, which is very different from the juice which comes from the pulp. Because the oil comes from the rind and not the pulp, there are no concerns about interactions with statin drugs.

AROMATIC USE

Diffusing this in the air is an absolute joy because it smells wonderful. Read on to see what other benefits are coming from that great smell.

  • Grapefruit, like all citrus oils helps to cleanse and purify the air.

  • When inhaled, grapefruit stimulates self love and a loving attention to what our body needs.

  • By calming and uplifting, it can help us avoid over eating or eating as a result of stress.

  • Grapefruits helps us reconnect with our body’s hunger signals and can be used when appetite has been lacking because of certain medications or eating disorders.

Combine with cassia to increase confidence in self and your appearance.

TOPICAL USE

Mix with a carrier oil and apply to areas of concern. Please avoid the sun for at least 12 hrs after applying because grapefruits (and all citrus oils) can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun.

  • Most famously, grapefruit is known for reducing cellulite by helping the body release toxins from the tissues.

  • Apply to abdomen to support the body’s proper progesterone balance.

  • Apply to tender breast tissue (see recipe below.)

  • Rubbing it on your skin helps balance oily skin.

Combine with clary calm, lavender, and ylang ylang in a roller bottle for soothing breast massage blend.

INTERNAL USE

NOTE ABOUT INTERNAL USE OF ESSENTIAL OILS: not all oils are of high enough quality & purity to use internally. I use a specific brand and this company stands by its oils and has researched to make sure internal use is safe with SOME of their oils. (I say SOME because you can’t eat wood no matter how pure it is.)

Grapefruit can go anywhere!! Add it to water, a capsule, or a recipe and enjoy! *If adding to water, be sure to use a glass or stainless steel cup!

  • Sipping grapefruit in your water can help the body release toxins from tissues, the detox organs process those toxins, so the body doesn’t have to hold onto fat (which protects us from toxins.)

  • Taken internally in a capsule (or in water) helps balance sugar cravings and appetite.

  • Helps the body process out toxins from alcohol.

Combine with peppermint in a glass of water to calm the stomach and balance the appetite.
