Oh my Darling Clementine (Oil)
Clementine is more than a cute vintage name that makes me wish I had used it for one of my kids. It’s also a great essential oil.
If you like Wild Orange, you’ll probably love Clementine! Clementine oil’s scent is similar to Wild orange, but softer in my opinion. Maybe a little bit more floral.
Aromatic
When I want to calm down I can put a drop in my palms, rub them together, and smell from my hands.
I’ve been putting it in a diffuser when I’m wanting to freshen the air since we’re starting our season of being inside more here in STL.
For a grounding, but fresh scent try diffusing clementine with patchouli.
Topical
Clementine’s uses really shine when using it topically.
In a personal care routine, mixing it with a bit of lotion or coconut oil can give your skin a healthy glow, balance the moisture, and promote smooth, clear skin.
It’s great to add to shampoo for a cleansing boost.
Or cleanse your hands by putting a drop on them and rubbing them together. (Keep in mind all citrus oils make your skin more photo-sensitive, so if you’re planning to be in the sun, avoid putting clementine on areas that will be exposed.)
Mix up a roller bottle with diluted clementine to roll on your muscles if they need to be soothed, any areas that are puffy, and your tummy if you have troubles with belching and burning after eating.
For a soothing roller bottle mix a little lemongrass, clementine, and marjoram.
Internal
NOTE ABOUT INTERNAL USE OF ESSENTIAL OILS: not all oils are of high enough quality & purity to use internally. I use a specific brand and this company stands by its oils and has researched to make sure internal use is safe with SOME of their oils. (I say SOME because you can’t eat wood no matter how pure it is.)
Clementine is one of the oils that can be used internally. You can add it to water or put it in a capsule for internal use.
You can add it to recipes for flavoring.
Do this to support digestion & healthy metabolism. Experiment with using it topically and internally or in combination to find out what works best for your body and your routine.
For a pre or after meal digestive support, add digest zen and Clementine in a capsule.
