Top Uses for Cedar-Essential oils under $20
I like to call this oil “smokey.” It makes me think of leather & cigars. A little goes a long way for me. But it’s one that’s in my regular rotation and I love blending it with other scents (like 8 drops lavender, 1 drop cedar.) Here are some of the ways I use it in my day to day.
Aromatic
Beyond diffusing, using oils aromatically is really easy. You could mix some water, a small amount of cheap vodka (which freshens linens & clothing), and a few drops of any oil or oil blend.
Spray on your pillow and bed clothes for a calming and relaxing night.
Diffuse all night long!
I love diffusing 1 drop of cedar with around 8 drops of other oils (try lavender!)
Topical
Using oils topically is safe and easy. Diluting them makes them work better and last longer. I love diluting them in fractionated coconut oil or mixing them with a bit of unscented lotion.
Add to facial moisturizer to support clear skin.
Add to hair oil to support healthy hair.
Add to coconut oil and others to make a homemade natural deodorant. For more tips go watch my natural deodorant video.
I always add it to my homemade bug repellent.
Blend cedar with rosemary and clary sage in a carrier of castor oil for a weekly hair treatment. You may need to adjust the carrier oil based on your hair texture.
Cedar can not be used internally.
You just can’t eat wood. But! You CAN use cedar around the house to clean and deodorize.
Put a drop on a cloth, sachet, or cotton ball and put it in your closets & dressers to keep away moths.
Use it in a wood or leather polish recipe.
Add it to a homemade all purpose cleaning spray
