YOU NEED THIS OIL-TEA TREE
Put it all over your body. Everything will be ok. That is to say, tea tree (aka melaleuca) is an essential oil powerhouse. It’s good for just about all the things related to your body-immune support, hair, skin, nails, anything itchy. Here’s how:
AROMATIC USE
Need to clear and freshen the air? Tea tree is your go-to.
Diffuse when your immune system needs some support.
Diffuse (with other oils) when you have company over.
This is one of the best oils for opening air passages in the “Steaming Cup of Death” recipe. (Along with oregano, peppermint, and lemon-1 drop of each. Trust me, just one drop of each.)
Diffuse to help with clear breathing.
Diffuse to support your own healthy boundaries and to help you stick up for what you believe in. (“Essential Oils and Emotions” by Rebecca Linder Hintze)
FAVORITE AIR CLEANSING BLEND TO DIFFUSE IS TEA TREE, WILD ORANGE, EUCALYPTUS.
TOPICAL USE
Hair, skin, nails-there is no place in your self care routine that tea tree can’t go. Diluting it in a little fractionated coconut oil is great for your skin and it will help your bottle last longer since you’ll be using it for so many things. But for little spots like the occasional pimple, it’s safe to use without diluting (aka neat.)
Put it in your face lotion.
Dab it on any blemishes that you can feel are forming just under the surface. (Can use without diluting it.)
Put it on skin to support healing for minor burns and scrapes. (Never put any oil on open wounds though.)
Add a drop to your shampoo/conditioner if you have itchy, flaky scalp.
Mix with coconut oil and rub on itchy feet. (Or anywhere else that’s itchy.)
Use that same coconut oil & tea tree blend on nails that have turned yellow.
Mix with lavender to use on your skin if you’ve been in the sun too long.
FOR SMOOTH & CLEAR SKIN BLEND TEA TREE, LAVENDER, AND CYPRESS WITH LOTION OR FRACTIONATED COCONUT OIL.
INTERNAL USE
NOTE ABOUT INTERNAL USE OF ESSENTIAL OILS: not all oils are of high enough quality & purity to use internally. I use a specific brand and this company stands by its oils and has researched to make sure internal use is safe with SOME of their oils. (I say SOME because you can’t eat wood no matter how pure it is.)
When I say internal use of tea tree, I usually mean in a capsule. It's pretty gross to taste, but it supports a lot of bodily systems and that's what we're after. It's not a daily internal oil, but for a short period of time it can be really great at
Supporting healthy gut bacteria and yeast.
Overall support for your immune system.
Support for digestive health.
To support healthy gums, add to a homemade mouthwash mix (with water) and swish around your mouth before swallowing the mix.
WHEN YOU’RE IMMUNE SYSTEM NEEDS EXTRA SUPPORT ADD TEA TREE OIL AND ON GUARD BLEND TO A CAPSULE.
