Can You Say Copaiba 3 Times Fast?
I get a lot of questions about CBD oils. I honestly don’t know much about CBD oils and here’s why:
Firstly, doTerra doesn’t sell CBD (partly because it’s not an essential oil and partly because it can not meet the purity and quality standards doTerra has in place.)
Secondly, why would I suggest CBD when Copaiba (and a couple of other essential oils) work directly with the CB2 receptors? CBD works indirectly with the receptors and has a few other concerns (including commonly being mislabeled. Read more here or watch more here.)
Copaiba is incredible and one of my daily go-tos. (I use 1-2 drops under my tongue every morning. I’m so tempted to make a wake & bake joke here.)
Aromatic Use
Honestly, I don’t like the smell of Copaiba well enough to diffuse it alone. It blends well with oils that you can use for your mood and for cleaning (citrus oils, clary sage, cedarwood, and ylang ylang, among others.)
Diffuse it when you want to uplift your mood (I suggest with citrus oils.)
Diffuse it when you want to calm anxious or stressful feelings (I suggest pairing it with clary sage or ylang ylang.)
Diffuse it when you want to clean the air of that aerosol spray we keep hearing about (with citrus or cinnamon-or both!)
Diffuse it if you or someone you live with needs support of the respiratory system.
A FAVORITE COMBO TO DIFFUSE IS COPAIBA AND CINNAMON.
TOPICAL USE
Using Copaiba topically is simple. Just add it to a carrier oil or an EO friendly lotion and put it on the area in need. I don’t recommend diluting essential oils with water (because water intensifies the effects rather than diluting them), but copaiba is gentle and you’d be comfortable even if you took a shower or bath after using it.
I mix it with geranium and add it to my oil cleansing mix for my face. (Learn more in my free skin care guide.)
I use it to soothe sore muscles.
It may also help with insect bites. (I read that in my favorite essential oils book, but I haven’t gotten to try it yet.)

INTERNAL USE
NOTE ABOUT INTERNAL USE OF ESSENTIAL OILS: not all oils are of high enough quality & purity to use internally. I use a specific brand and this company stands by its oils and has researched to make sure internal use is safe with SOME of their oils. (I say SOME because you can’t eat wood no matter how pure it is.)
Like I said, I put a few drops under my tongue daily for a variety of reasons. It’s not a flavor I want in my water, but it’s not hot nor does it taste as terrible as it’s good friend Frankincense (which I also use under my tongue anyway.)
Use oils internally to support your bodily systems. Remember your body is a system of systems so it’s important to know how anything you do will affect the other systems. Copaiba is one that affects so many systems in a good way that it’s worth using each day. Use Copaiba internally to support…
Cardiovascular system
Nervous system
Muscles and bones
Emotional balance
Antioxidant levels
THE DAILY DROPS I PUT UNDER MY TONGUE ARE COPAIBA WITH FRANKINCENSE.
